Water Supply Design and Estimation (By Softwel Team)

  • Duration 15h
  • Total Enrolled 12
  • Last Update November 23, 2022

Description

SW WSP for Rural Water Supply Projects was developed during 1996 by WELINK Consultants. Later it was adopted by SOFTWEL (A sister concern of WELINK) and has been upgrading and supporting it since 2000. A comprehensive update was done during 2005 for the ADB Funded CBWSSP. It was extensively applied in design and drawings of many rural water supply projects in Nepal.

SW WSP V3 for Rural Water Supply Projects is a significant upgrade to the previous version of SW WSP/SW CBWSSP

SW WSP V3 for Urban Water Supply Projects is the updated version of original GIS WSP program released on 2005. It is based on EPANET 2.2 and can be used for design of loop networks of urban water supply.

Each software is released as a free software without any license fees. They facilitate for integration with GIS, mobile application-based survey with Professional GPS integration, Digital Terrain Modelling. Current version is self-updating such that user gets automated update notice.

This course has been designed to help as a guide for the engineers to step into the Water Supply Design platform. This course intends to familiarise the learners about the basic idea and concepts of Water Supply Design & Estimation which will definitely be helpful for the further journey as a Water Supply Designer Professional.

What Will I Learn?

  • Basic concept of Digital Terrain Model (DTM) Preparation
  • Basic concepts on Water Supply Components, Water Demand and RVT Sizing
  • Hydraulic Design and Cost Estimation of Rural Water Supply Projects in Nepal based on 12 Volumes by Department of Water Supply and Sewerage
  • Hydraulic Design of Loop Network System for Urban Water Supply System
  • Interlinkage and Visualization in QGIS environment
  • Discussions on various output options like AutoCAD, Excel, EPANET and GIS file formats
